In May, we had a great time at Remington Park. Dinner at Silks, watching the quarter horses fly down the track, not to mention a little gambling, meant a good time for everyone.

This month we had a great SNO at Mama Rojo on the patio at Lake Hefner. Thanks everyone for coming out. We got to celebrate Michael Bellis’s 50th birthday. Check out the photo! He sure is looking handsome and rather dapper. At the end of this month, we had scheduled the our annual float trip. But due to a lack of sign ups, we have cancelled this trip. We’ll try it again next year.

Coming up August 15th is our nighttime scavenger hunt. We’ll meet up and roam the city to check off our little list. RSVP to rose.chris@gmail.com to save your spot.
And don’t forget to check the schedule for our SNOs! The next one will be in Norman at one of Norman’s favorite hot spots, The Mont. If you haven’t been there in a while, it’s still just as good as it always has been. It’s mid-summer, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had before the skis come out.

The birds sing each morning, my husband says, "I may shot that bird, he’s up to early". Only kidding, he enjoys them like I do. We get to pull weeds and mow the grass! Then we water the grass so we can mow it some more and pull some more weeds! Golfing or tennis or laking, only in the summer. Don’t know about your thoughts, but the summer comes and goes all to quickly! When summer must leave us, we do have another happy season to look forward too. This is it, winter, snow, skiing and snow boarding in the mountains. This is a great reason to belong to the Oklahoma City Ski Club. Hope you have enjoyed some of our summer activities. The OKC Ski Club puts together summer outings, hoping one of them will be the thing you want to do.

Even though we don’t see our ski club family as much in the summer months, the wheels are turning. The officers are touching base with ski areas and putting together the coming season of winter ski trips. If you are not a member and need info, please call one of us and ask questions. We are always happy to give you info about the club and all we do. Old members (not meaning age!!!!), Please sign up early for the new season and get your friends, buddies, family and any smiling face to come join us. We are excited about the new web site! It is looking good and as time goes by more and more info will fill the pages. Continue to listen to the birds, run barefoot in the grass or sand and do all the fun summer stuff we do. Bury your money in the backyard for the up coming ski trips. It will be monies well spent!

Plenty of info, great accommodations, and most of all Judy’s hospitality and treats! Marty Thee

I’ve forgiven my husband for taking me on a “warm up” on a steep mogul double blue cause he ended up in the same situation on a “rocky” steep double black. We had great condo mates, Dennis and Ole. Had a great communal breakfast with Gary and Susan Jones, Craig, Bob & Peggy. They came to eat up Gary’s breakfast burritos fantastic with the Cholula sauce and Marty and my leftovers. On the last day, three days into my new boots, 4:01 off, I actually kept up with the freeway skiers … you know who you are. Sign us up for next year Dave!!! Thanks so much. Lilly & Marty

A confident skier is a good skier. Unfortunately, I am still picking up the pieces of my shattered confidence after having a GREAT grandmother ski circles around me. Thanks Bette! Bob

This has been a fantastic and fun time for us as a family, and we could not have chosen a better time to come. The weather was great, the lines were short and the snow was fresh! We loved the street festival and would welcome a trip here at this time of year. We really loved the people on this trip, as well as the Downtown Doggies. The Witter’s

As always, a fantastic trip with my ski family. A wonderful ending to a great ski season. We laugh at getting lost on the trails and laugh at each other for whatever! How about a couple of great lady skiers falling in the ladies room. Not telling who, sure glad they had on their helmets. Dolores Hopeman

I learned a valuable lesson. Stay on the same side of the trees that your ski partner is on. Lilly & I were out on the first day in Prospect bowl. We came around the tree and stopped at the same place. Then we played “Twister” and landed on the ground. We were so tangled up – someone came by to help us. Janie Hlinicky

A great trip captain, great skiing, great friends and great shopping. What more could you ask for. Can’t wait for next season. Linda Wells

The high point of my trip was discovering that Randy Montgomery and I were in the same classroom from kindergarten to the fourth grade at Columbus grade school. We also played baseball on the same team for the Columbus Zebra’s. I was the pitcher and he was the catcher. As for the ski trip, there is no better mountain & town than Telluride, CO. Keith Ahpeatone
